"Way to go! I’m very proud of you. You said you’d get your book published and you did. Our 9/11 experience will always be with us and the friendship we share will always be a “special” one!”
--Shelly Martin
“I enjoyed your book very much. My friend Pat commented “I wanted to hit Tim in the jaw”. He knew you were from out of town yet he left and let you stand there”. Next my friend Bill commented “I enjoyed it so much I hated to lay it down to go to lunch”. It was probably the only book Bill read in his life.”
--Ava Davis
“What a great book! Wow, did you have a story to tell. I loved it. God gave you a talent to express your thoughts.”
--Lee Barrera
“We were brought together by a horrific tragedy. It is so ironic that our strong friendship is the result of an American weakness. If only the government were more prepared on 9/11………….. Reading your book evolved into a very emotional moment for me. You are terrific!”
--Jason Jacobi
“Character of the Soul was inspirational. I asked my children to read it. There is much to learn from this book”.
--Sharon Curie
“Character of the Soul should be made into a movie. It is amazing. It kept moving. I like the way it all came together at the end. “Can’t wait to read your next book.”
--Tom Elway
“I felt like I was walking in your shoes. It was very descriptive”.
--Lillian Visa
"I finally got some free time to sit and read your book "Character of the Soul". Based on my own knowledge of 911, I knew I wouldn't be able to stop reading once I got started on your book. Now I want to read your book over and over again.
I am writing to you with a heavy heart. Your words brought tears to my eyes. My heart is heavy for all the people who lost loved ones as a result of that un-called for terrorist action. I am happy that you took the time to tell your story, grateful that you weren't injured and elated that your family loves you so much that they are willing to drive to the center of hell's burning core to come rescue you.
I am a believer too. I know God was with you every step of the way during your trials and tribulations over those horrifying 4 days and, I pray that God is with you in each and every moment for the rest of your life. You didn't have to call on him in your desperation. HE knew your needs and placed all those god-fearing people in your path so YOU would be taken care of. HE is an awesome God!
You have a talent too. As I read your book, I couldn't help but feel like I was personally there. I often remark about books I've read; how the author has written so well that I feel like I am actually in the story. Your words captivated me, held on to me and gave the sense that I was walking with you through the crowds, struggling to find space to breathe, to rest and find solitude, safety and security. As an author I commend you for having the strength to recount your personal experience, put it into words and bear yourself for all the world to see. Your writing is powerful and gripping.
I don't consider myself an emotional lush. I am a deeply private person who rarely shows emotional stress. I am a leader of men and women in the workforce and am usually the solid rock that most people (friends, family and co-workers) can lean on for strength when they are weak or in time of need. However, your book, with its extraordinary detail and extreme sincerity brought me to tears. I am in tears thinking about what you wrote. As an author you captured me. That's what I am looking for when I read any book. I long to be taken away in the story, to feel like I am the main character and experience (through the written words) the events as if it was me that was going through the ordeals and events of the story being told.
Carmen, over the years I have read hundreds and hundreds of books of all types and varying authors. Yet, none has captured me, wrapped me up and stirred the emotional outburst of tears as your book has done to me. I will never forget your book. I will recommend it as a MUST read to all my friends, and family. Please forgive me if I burst into tears the next time I see you."
